The Rhode Island Green New Deal Research Council seeks to explore creative solutions to the local risks of climate change, economic uncertainty, and inequality.
The wide scope of any Green New Deal calls for a review of dozens of existing studies and data about Rhode Island’s conditions. Researchers are reviewing documents that cover a range of issues, from climate change impacts, to social equity, to sector-by-sector economic outlooks.
The best solutions come from people with direct experiences to the challenges facing their communities. It is our goal to bring together a wide spectrum of experiences and ensure that our work reflects these perspectives.
With goals as ambitious as those included within a Green New Deal, it's critical that well-crafted policy delivers on its intended objectives. Policy outcomes will be framed out of our research and engagement.
